New Dawn Hotel

I arrived at the end of January 2020 and stayed for 3 nights. I had booked a room for 2, but a third person joined us at the last moment. Dilan Lowe, at the reception, managed to find a larger room for us and charged me the original price. He also speaks Italian fluently! The place was small but clean and neat, quiet and cozy. Continental breakfast was actually better than what I found in much more expensive hotels. It was quite nice to have tea, coffee and snacks available around the clock, plus the use of a microwave oven and toaster! For the price range, it is a great deal, not to mention the convenience of the location!

My only criticism is the rooms are very small and not well laid out. Room clean and good quality bedding and towels and house maid in every day. Staff all very pleasant and helpful . Breakfast room clean and continental breakfast good. Complimentary tea and coffee whenever you want it. Surrounding area lots of food outlets and Bayswater tube 3 minutes walk. Recommend.

I was shocked by the number of negative reviews and thought about canceling my reservation before arrival, but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The staff were very friendly and helped me carry my luggage to the room, which was wonderful, very clean, comfortable, and had a small balcony. The hotel is close to the city center, just a few minutes from the metro station, with shops and restaurants nearby. For a two-star hotel, it was much better than I expected. Don’t be misled by the bad reviews, which are honestly unfair.

Lovely, cozy rooms. Good price, especially for where it is. Only downside is that the shower didn't seem to keep all the water in. So the bathroom floor could become quite wet. Besides that, excellent hotel for two

I hadn’t seen the google reviews before I was on my way to this hotel. TBH I was terrified by the amount of bad reviews. But it turned out to be OKAY. Yes, it is definitely not the cleanest room I have ever stayed (the photos people have posted are actually what you will see), but in my personal opinion, I think it is clean and cozy enough to stay a couple of days. Yes, they are under staffed so you can expect there will be no room service. I can smell the smoke whenever I passed the corridor. BUT Towels are very clean and in good condition. Everything in the room is functional. I am especially pleased to find that a fan is provided in this unbelievably hot weather. To sum up, I will say this hotel is a great value for money. You can have an ensuite located in a great location at a very reasonable price during the tourist season. (Well I paid around £70 per night so it probably the main reason I was kind of satisfied) It really depends on what you’re looking for and what your preferences are.

Honesty, I booked it first and only after read the comments. And I was like: omg what have I done?! But you know what? IT'S NOT THAT BAD. What do you expect for 40 quid a night in central London? A presidential suit? Yes it's tiny, yes you can barely fit in the bathroom, but who cares it's only 40 GBP per night FOR YOUR OWN PRIVATE ROOM WITH YOUR OWN PRIVATE BATHROOM. I saw capsule hotels and shared rooms more expensive than this hotel in the area. It's clean, it's in an AMAZING location, Queensway Tube station like 7 min walk, Bayswater station like 5 min walk. Restaurants cafes supermarkets all super close. Hyde's park, Kensington palace all walking distance. So relax, it's fine, you'll be fine, at least for a short stay you will.

Have just stayed at New Dawn for 2 nights....... 7 of us in 2 rooms, and I just want to say how good value it was! Near to everything........ smiling and helpful staff, hot water, clean beds, comfy beds, excellent croissants and as much breakfast as we could eat.... lots of coffee......... I would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to anyone......... OK, not the Hilton, but then again, not Hilton prices!

My company staff always stay here amazing location safe and cheap. Well worth a visit.lots of great restraints in the area!
